I've googled also and found this...

https://bestreviewstips.co.uk/automotiv ... re-gauges/

This is a very accurate gauge. I have a car which has an on board tyre pressure monitoring system and it is essential to get the tyres to the correct pressure before resetting the system. The easiest way to use this is to slightly inflate at the local garage, then use this to check the pressure, easily reducing the pressure by pressing the release valve until the required pressure is obtained. An essential piece if kit if you want to maintain your tyres safely.

Why don’t you just buy your own tyre inflator instead of visiting a garage, it’s not like they are unaffordable.

I use the quick release type of valve adapter on my pump. Half the headache was screwing the pump on and off. Quick release valve made it considerably faster to do tyre pressures.

I had a Michelin one with a screw on type of adapter which broke after 10 months, so went back to another Draper the first of which lasted me years, it also has quick release.

I've been using a Halfords electric pump for around 10 years now and it still works fine - the only slight irritation is the screw on valve adapter.

I found as long as you unscrew it reasonably quickly you don’t lose much air when taking the valve adapter off perhaps 0.5 PSI at most.

You still lose a bit of air when disconnecting a quick release valve adapter, in fact I’ve used both types and have no preference.

My backup inflator is a screw on electronic one which I’d quite happily use in an emergency.

Just done the tyre pressures with mine, I think it’s on its way out. I purchased it from Amazon on 16/08/19 so a year and four months ago.

It seems to be letting out air as I press down on it therefore needing more presses to reach the required pressures. I guess I was lucky with my first Draper.

They don’t last forever especially if you use it every two weeks, I think the electronic type last longer as you’re not pumping in air with your foot.

What is the warranty on these pumps? When you think about it you're not using that often really.
Just a quick check up l guess.

Did my tyre pressures again today, it’s definitely requiring more presses to put in air. Feels like it’s only operating on one barrel. Never mind I’ll keep using it until it breaks completely.

Get a new one, or replace it under warranty
