Hello i gt a citroen c1 rythym, 3 years old, but new to me as i just bought it, a lovely car ,however ive just noticed that behind my passenger seat on the floor, my footwells are wet and also same side in the boot area only on the passenger side, i thought it was coming from a dodgy seal underneath the car, but checked them and they seem solid, anyone else experienceing this or similar problem,s or can help me with this id be very greatfull, thanking you wilson.

Around the rear lights, the boot welt/weatherstrip and the air vent in the rear panel are all possibles. Is it a 3 or 5 door?

I've had water coming in to the boot , and traced it to the nearside rear light cluster. A smear of silicone grease provided a quick and easy fix so far.

If you get water in the drivers foot well, check the boot between the rack and the bulkhead, seems unlikely, but mine was full of water, causing premature failure of the rack itself

Is this the infamous leaking door seal problem?

Does it only affect 3 door models as I haven't heard of any problems with 5 door models like mine?

Would a car of this age have the early type door seals? If so, fitting the later type should cure this problem.

Thought that hit the Aygo, but not the C1/107?

Worth checking the integrity of the door weatherstrip though.

I found my C1 (5 door) was leaking and getting wet in the same place as you describe, i found in the end after several trips to my local Citroen dealer that the majority of the water was getting in round the boot door, i also had one light cluster done, both back doors and one of the pop out back windows, in your case i think you will be good with a boot door seal change.

Opening doors or hatchbacks have welts or weatherstrips. Fixed items, such as non-opening windows have seals.

Make sure you go to the dealer and leave it open, saying "I have a leak". If you suggest that a certain seal is dodgy they'll look at the wrong part entirely.

The 3th brakelight is a big problem!
The rubber sealing is not good.

And the front door-rubbers are to small. My dealer put in my aygo new, wider and tronger once!

Hi,

I have an 08 C1 and the boot now resembles a munisiple lido and smells like a wet dog, I have identified that the rain is coming in where the cables from the rear light clusters on both sieds enter the rear corner box sections. I treated the 'foam seals' and I use the word seal in the loosest of teminology with some heavy motorcyle chain wax to try to form a barrier but to no avail, my next attempt will be duck tape over the hole and around cables to try and fend off the rain, I know these are budget cars but for gods sake a better foam seal is needed surely, this looks like packing from an Amazon parcel

Any advice anyone?

regards all Andy
