Its as designed.

I don`t agree with you. It wasn`t like that before on my C1.
It can be really nasty if you cannot put into 1st gear while moving slowly in the traffic jam and up the hill.

Somebody else any suggestions? I guess it`s something about clutch...

My 2011 C1 has done 102,000 miles - I can engage 1st without coming to a complete stop, but only at very slow speed - but I've also learnt to live with the lack of torque so don't feel the need to go into 1st unless I am coming to a halt.

Try adjusting the clutch, it's a manual adjustment.

Its a very old design this clutch. I stand by what I said. I've been around these cars since launch and spend my entire day supplying parts for them, so I know a bit.

For decades it was part of your driving tuition to only use 1st for pulling away, for this very reason. Maybe it no longer is.

I cant put my Dispatch van into first whilst moving and thats only 3 years old.

My Pug 307 Convertible doesnt much like it either, it crunches.

Many people on Facebook post that can't get reverse in cold weather, l advise them to leave the box in reverse when parking. Regarding 1 gear as l said it's a problem for me to but not too bad, l try to read the road and slow down if necessary before I need 1st. So it fall in.
If you need to pull away in the morning in 1st. Leave it overnight in that gear, l do that then start my car
with the clutch down foot on the brake, so that the handbrake does not seize. Takes pressure off of off the engine also in cold weather.
