Bought yet another 3rd.brake light, fitted it today. After much time was spent trying to remove the old sealant. Ended up using a razor blade, found that the best method. Now it's purposely sitting outside waiting for rain. To see if l need to tighten it up a bit.

Well the rain certainly fell, overnight and all day. Lifted the boot the corner was DRY.
But it's leaking in 2 new places, but I hope think it's an easy fix. And totally my fault, some of the of the old sealant has fallen down between the glass boot seal. Get my car under cover, and (might) be a 2 minute fix.

Good to hear you sorted the brake light leak, the rain dance worked as well.

Thanks for that, found some cover used a strong toothbrush and silicone spray to clean it out.
Wish I'd done it ages ago. Still hope it solves the problem got my enthusiasm back for Jacqueline now.
She's just bought a Bex Bissell 3in1 carpet cleaning machine. Got to talk her into doing the boot carpet and the front ones. The thing cost more than my car is worth almost.

Checked it again yesterday as l went to get the carpet. It's now leaking in 2 places more to the left
Sort of weird, both were on the spare wheel cover. About 3 inches from the back body. I have solved the one on the right. Now it's 2 not 1 on the left, can't figure out how come it's about 5/6 inches in.
That's without the car moving.

The only idea I have is fully remove the rubber seal and clean out the channels, and the car body and and try again. Oh and maybe adjust the lock to pull it tighter.

That's not good news, as you say worth doing the remove whole boot seal, cleaning and then refit with sealant as mentioned/posted helpfully by member on here. Worth a go as one of the cheapest most helpful fixes I seen on here.
