Hi all I am trying to fix my seatbelt stalk as it is loose. I took the other stalk off the seat and saw that a thin castle washer was missing. Is it OK to use a washer from a hardware shop or do I have to get one from a mainstealer?

TIA

They are meant to have a little play in them. But l've never removed mind, you may well find that your hardware shop has the correct washer. Don't recommend you leave the nut loose though.

The stalk has no resistance and was an MOT failure. Ill check for a toothed washer tomorrow.
