Hi,

I am having issues with water leaking into the boot. It seems to be coming down the sides, as shown in the attached photo. I first considered the main boot seal as being the culprit. However, looking ath the centre brake light up top, the seal looks a little degraded. I have marked the possible flow path with dashed lines. Has anyone else had the same leak pattern and if so, has replacing one or the other seals helped? I'm asking as i'd rather not replace both seals unless neccessary - cost etc.

Thanks.

Leaking from the centre brake light is VERY common - I think most owners have suffered from it at some time.

For me I tried replacing the centre brake light without success, so I replaced the bulbs with LEDs and added some gutter sealant before refitting it and that seems to have stopped the leak.

I've seen a few sealants which I might try, Do you usally allow to dry before replacing the light bar, or is the light bar replaced straight away?

I used gutter sealant which doesn't set, so I refitted it straight away.

I am just trying to find the spare time to get to the Dealer to see if only the seal for the light is available. I am now on my third. The rain in Germany must be different it's washing away my Silicone Sealant. The carpets are soaked again. Petrol Dave what is roof sealant?

Ah well just wishful thinking I guess. Thanks Roc you saved me quite a bit of time and Petrol.
Don't want to take over the post, but what kind of sealant or material can be best used.
TIA BB

Not roof sealant, gutter sealant - it's sold in DIY stores to fix leaks on the gutters on buildings. It doesn't set solid and can be applied even when the surfaces are wet.

I got a grey tube to use on the centre brake light of my C1 and a white tube to use on the gutters of my home :D

I put an extra run of the rubber foam type seal around the boot area - seems to have cured it in my sons car. Will try to get and post a pic next time I get to see the car...
