Hello guys, I was planning to change my gearbox oil in the weekend... do I need new gaskets for the plugs, or can I just recycle the old ones?

Do you know the measure of the gaskets?

thanks,

RL

Come on man what kind of question is that? The gearbox oil is only changed once every 10 years
from memory, unless there is another problem, clutch or something.
Change the bolt and washer together and make sure you pour in good quality oil.
Spare no cost.

File comment: Check this oil out it’s not cheap though.

I'd be happy to change the gasket, but I don't know the size, then I should jack up the car, undo the plug, measure it, then put the car down again, a trip to the shop, then home again, etc... if it won't leak recycling the old gasket, I will be happier :-)

I recycled the oil plug gaskets on all the bikes I've owned, I had no problems, but sometimes it may leak (eg. copper washers can't be reused).

best,

RL

Did the job yesterday, I've seen that the plug gaskets are made of tin, I recycled them and so far it didn't leak.

best,

RL
