They all do this
If you have both door mirrors working then it's not an mot fail
The mirror clips onto a small bracket glued to the screen so is replaced as a unit, just be careful if you decide to remove it as the screens are quite tough but are laminated glass so quite thin
Hth

Now you have him given him the jitters. Recommend you spray a little WD on it the old joint before you try to move it.

Thanks,if this is not an M.O.T failure I will carry on as it is.I remember cars with tiny interior mirror, small rear window & no wing mirrors.I have survived thus far.

Or you could buy one those wider clip-on/slip-on mirrors, I had one on our 107 for years just to improve rearward visibility, standard mirror not bad, but it came from our 107's predecessor, so was a free upgrade. I can remember those cars as well, hence the upgrade!

Just be careful on size weight, our one has elastic strips to hold it on so just slides on (been on 10+ years no issues), but my sister got one that clips on her old car and it a bulkier/a lot heavier so over the years it fell off couple times, so I had re-stick main mirror to screen a few times, a hot sunny day if we got one didn't help!

If restocking do not use super glue but use a proprietary glue suitable for the job,it used to be a £5 an applicator when I used to work on fords where the mirrors were always falling off
Cant see why you dont buy a s/h replacement of the same anyway and just swap it on the clip or are non available..?
Me thinking new ebay business here..
