Will a Yaris gearbox bolt straight into an Aygo?

Want the change due to the higher final drive.

Shouldn't have an issue with the mating of the bell housing , just need to confirm if it would be a simple gear box mount swap and job done ? And will need to check of the driveshafts for the yaris box. Does the diff sit in the correct place for the drive shaft geometry?

A few questions to answer, you would be the first person to attempt it? Worth a shot if you have the spare time and the money to take a punt?

If the final drive ratio is different won't the speedo calibration be wrong?

The speedo reads the RPM of the output/wheels so it shouldn't make a difference. Looking at google pictures of Aygo gearboxes there is no speed sensor on the diff housing so they probably use the ABS sensors to detect vehicle speed.

Yes ABS sensors provide the speed.

I've removed the abs fuse and the speedo still works. Speedo being different isn't an issue. I'll correct it with tipex or something. Looks like I'll be talking a punt.

I would be very interested to see how this works. Sounds potentially a very good modification, is the Yaris a 6speed?

There was speculation in the past of the same idea with the Toyota IQ gearboxes

Now a 6 speed box is something I would be interested in ...

No its a 5 speed box. I road rally the car so I'm just looking at it for lowering the gearing

Not straight in but with a bit of adjustment you can get it in.

Makes a hell of a difference now it's in. 50ish top of second and 70ish at top of 3rd
