Hi there, I just bought my first C1. Its an MOT failure and has a "Exhaust lambda reading after 2nd fast idle outside specified limits" issue. It is a really low milage car 38K,so wanted to clean the pre cat sensor as its probably caked in carbon. However I cannot remove the connector as its clipped into a flange and I cannot push in the lower clip down due to sausage fingers. Any advice on how I can release the connector?

a heat gun is what i use or maybe you can use a hairdrier
these lambdas either work or they dont, you cant clean them, you really need live data to see if its working or not

Just replace it.

Find someone with smaller hands? ;-)

With this fault from the MOT, what sensors should I replace? The pre CAT, post CAT or both?

As for removal of connector, I may engage my daughter in some forced labour as she has small hands. Barring that I think some long nosed pliers may do the trick.

All you need on this page, with proven units.

Replace both if you have the funds, but the pre cat is the most prone to failure.
