It was hoot bowling around the Midlands in it in 1984/1985 - no speed cameras, few hand held radar guns just normally Plod with Vascar (?) so never got caught speeding in it.

It was white with white alloys, so hard to see when it snowed :D

The styling was funky 80's, I don't think there was a curve on the thing it was all straight lines.

Happy days

Mitshubishi or toyota. I had a SWB 2.8 Pajero which I really miss, especially with all the floods we have been having.

If I could have afforded it, I would have gone cruiser instead of the Pajero. As the older cruisers have a better suspension setup, live axle front and rear as the Mitshubishi has live axle rear and Torsion bars on the front.

Here is a pic of my beasty I had.

Makes my current 4007 look very puny indeed! Got a scuttle snorkel on her now. Obviously not as good as a proper snorkel but not as unsightly either.

Yeah, that pic was taken the day after I fitted it and as you can see it sticks up too much.

I did cut it down the next evening and looked a lot better.

If you ever want help on deciding what truck to go for, you can't go wrong visiting this club for offroading and 4x4 advice. My username is the same on there as it is on here.

Passed my test in 1976, can't remember all the years/dates

- Blue Hillman Avenger (with 8 track tape player, doubled the value of the car)
- Blue Vauxhall Viva Mark 3 (reliable once I "araldyted" the points in place. Up to this point I could drive exactly 22 miles before I had to stop and adjust the points. Bought it for 50 quid and it came with a spare engine in the boot)
- Yellow Ford Capri V6 3 litre (with black vinyl roof and whip aerial, bulge in bonnet hinting at more power. I now have a bulge in my shirt, hinting at more beer)
- Racing green Triumph Spitfire MK 2
- Red Mazda RX7 (wonderful car, smooth as silk)
- Brown Rover 820 (OK car, don't know what possessed me though)
- Blue Honda Legend (the best shape on any car ever - the round one. Kept this car 7 years.)
- Blue Alfa Romeo 156 (nice and very reliable and people came up and talked to me about it)
- Blue VW Passat (most unreliable car I have owned, never again will VW darken my door)
- Gold Lexus RX300 (never really liked this car very boring and the smallest most uncomfortable seats I have ever used)
- Metallic grey C1 (2 kids learning to drive and wanting something simpler)

The C1 has become the default family use car 'cos of ease of town use, eco stuff etc. We do also have a "large" car in the family (XF) but this comes out of the garage about once a week typically.
