Hi, as you said there are many types of these on the market. I didn't just buy the first one l saw.
The prices here can vary widely, this is one of the basic ones that fit our cars l found.

Great idea if you're leaving your car at an airport for a week for example, or not using one of yours.

Had a meeting with the guy who painted my rear bumper last night.
Originally he quoted me €100 to the front one. And we agreed. I went to give him €50 towards the cost and discuss painting some of the inner trim bits and cut.

How much More?

Gave him the money and asked if l bring him the bumper how much more would l need to pay, he said,
That would cover it. [FLUSHED FACE]

So l said how about for the other €50 l give you some trim bits, he just said, casually OK.

I found out last night, that my GF and her friend who knows him have been speaking about me and he said, l get a good deal because l pay upfront, and he doesn't have to chase money that people owe him.

And of course l am a very nice guy [SMILING FACE WITH OPEN MOUTH AND TIGHTLY-CLOSED EYES]

Took the car for its first car meet which was at Wheels4Kris with a few cars being there but unfortunately not a lot of city bugs there, got the pug serviced by Peugeot as got it free with the car when purchased it and then took the car up to Coleraine for a few days away and then drove her back home afterwards and did very well for fuel ecomany averaging 53-54 MPG with motorway driving, city driving and A Road driving and also major traffic jam in the middle of Belfast

Some time back found this removing trim video on YouTube.
https://youtu.be/Rnp0N0mMZF8
Here's a few tips to help anyone thinking of doing the same that might make the job a little easier, sorry if l go on a bit.
The window switches and closer are straightforward.
Air vents and rev counter and speedo also.
I decided to do the radio surround and the heater controls as well.
I used a piece of ribbon and slipped it around the knobs tightly to put them off, made it easy.
Removing the controls from the cables was another matter, he doesn't go in detail about this.
Image
The wire cable is slipped over the end to hold it in place,
the best way l found to remove it was slip a thin screwdriver between the end bit and the cable.

On the drivers there is not a lot room due to steering.
Also don't get these parts mixed up, they look the same, but the numbers are different.
As l found out after 1 hour.
Next problem l had was the air slider control, for the guy in video it's easy, for me it would not budge. I soaked it as well.

Here's what it looks like after you get off, l managed to get my trusty thin screwdriver in there and pull.

Put 99.9% of the parts back on when he gave me them back, a misunderstanding he had painted the complete speedo, he gave it back in 2 parts made it easier to fit though.
All looks very RED- RED- RED- RED-RED :-)

Checked the oil level done about 350 miles and it’s used not a drop.
Can’t remember the last time l had to put some in.
Topped up screen wash.
And swapped Summer tyres for Winter bit early but now it’s done.

The hardest thing was removing the nut on the Earth cable, it was seized solid. Now it takes me a second to disconnect the battery, to work on the car.
Only costs 4.50 posted.
If you want one here's a picture with the item from Ebay UK.

By the way if you want to protect your car you can remove the green knob completely and hide it.

I fitted this some weeks back, just a quick follow up.
Since then l have stopped and started my car many, many times and not once has it missed a beat. That is with a battery this is at least 5 years old.

Changed both front wheel bearings :D .
The cars coming up for 11 years old and 70k and after hearing a few rumbles I thought I'd get them changed before they got any worse.
Hardest job was getting the old circlip out so the bearing could be pressed out but a bit of heat and a big persuader worked fine.

Now I just need to remember to turn the radio down

Is that a DIY job then?

How are your ABS sensors? I'm told it's easy to damage them when replacing the wheel bearings.

Take a look in the how to section, if you’re thinking about doing it yourself.
