Nice one, back up and running at last.
Yesterday l used some time to wax the Bonnet and would you believe it both wings at the same time.
I was impressed with myself. And that was after doing the plugs, which l have to re-torque down to 28 nm's

After mucking up my rear blade l attempted to remove the sealants around the 3rd brake light.

It's worse than that, going back to boot leak days, in the past now. By the way. Citroen don't sell the seal on its own. Checked in the week. Every other bit though nipicalllmaly.
I spent 2 hours totally wasted.
And no plugs were re-torqued l can't find an adapter.
But the good news is l heard the Petrol fillings thing go click, meaning my tank is full. Sorry should post that somewhere else l guess:-)

Is that grey stuff bare steel, anti-rust paint or what's left of the sealant?! Somewhere in the back of my mind, I *think* you mentioned rust in this area? Yearsssss ago? Did I imagine that?

The club shop says that the latest of these lights have a new improved seal. Somewhere on this forum Don Bernard (I think) said the seal was improved and made sticky. I have been through about 4 of these lights on my cars (because of leaks and leak fixes going wrong). When I removed what i presume was the factory fitted one from my 2011 car, it stuck to the paintwork before reluctantly pulling away, ripping some of the foam. So it looks as though the seal may well have been inproved. I have since replaced and removed a new "sticky" (it's not really sticky to touch - probably just a different type of foam) light successfully but I am not going to say for sure it is a better seal.

If you do replace the light, don't get a second hand one - on the last one I bought, the foam was cracked and compressed.

Touching wood here - another leak will have me put in a straight jacket!

At some point in the past, the design of the lens must also have changed. If I recall correctly, this was a 55 plate diesel C1 courtesy car. Note the difference in washer nozzle and rust bubbles under the paint (right edge). The boot had no carpet fitted - I wonder why?

Hi again been a while, you might notice the area were the light is, is black. Your correct l did have rust around the light area when l bought the car. This was repaired but l didn't want to pay for a complete roof red respray for a 3 inch strip. The water was filling the boot everyone was saying use this sealant and then that sealant l completely messed it up.

Bought a new unit it didn't stop the leak anyway.
Mine as l told you needed the modified glass rubber.
As a matter of just in case, in the l popped into Citroen and asked about buying just the seal in case l damaged it today. Every other part is available but for the seal you must buy the lens as well.

You can get the new screws and the bits that go through the body.
There must be shop that makes this stuff, our houses are sealed from weather etc.

Checked and adjusted my tyre pressures all were down, must do it more often.
After that l decided to change the flickering interior bulb for the 3rd time. I have stripped the door switch and the light switch cleaned the lot. It only works properly with a blue bulb. But l want an led super bright job, any idea what l need a photo would help.
The ones in number plates.
Topped up the oil, this time l spent much longer doing it, more control, 100 MLS at a time.
It's nearly full. Started the engine and for the first time in over 2 years the stop light DID NOT FLASH.

Whipped the rod out thought l'd overfilled it, but no.
After the crazy week with the wiper now l'm happy.

Just checked Paypal l got €7.99 credit for the crap wiper.
So went for a test drive. Great.
I turned left a bit sharpiss and saw a hub cap going in the other direction, thought 'hit one of mine was not so tight, sure enough it was, rolling down the 'kin road.
Hazards on and off l Trumble luckily no one hit it.
Yet another job.
And all that before

Have a great Weekend

Yeah once a month is enough, I do mine every two weeks but that's just me.
