So last night one of my Facebook friends had a rant about car parking spaces on her estate (or lack of) and had a moan about a car which hadn't been moved in two months. Don't think she was talking about my car but it got me thinking that people are probably getting peed off with my car because I always park in the same spot and it looks like it never moves.

So I thought from now on I will reverse in one week, drive in the next week alternating between the two. This way people can see my car is being moved and it will also be good reversing practise. I am not doing anything wrong with my current parking situation so the company which looks after the car park can't do anything as I have a valid permit.

Comes to something when you have to go out of your way and park differently to keep the neighbours happy.

I've always had terrible luck with neighbours. Just tell 'em to suck it.

As above. You're over thinking it man, sod what others think. Unless you're parking across the back of someones car, then they would have the right to get an arse on.

As you said you have a valid parking permit, from memory your parking area is private and under cover.
I would not recommend you start reversing your Smart last time you did that l think you had damage. Do what you wish. And relax.
Ask your friend who she is referring to, if it is then you can put her mind at rest but only if you wish.
Ps l never reverse unless it's necessary for parking

Just worried someone may slash my tyres or key my car out of spite. Although there is CCTV down there.

Morning, don't worry about things that haven't happened yet. If it should happen dial the police with your thoughts and proof, let them sort it. Have a great day.

I wouldn't sweat a second over this. It's your space and you clearly have the right to park there.

There's lots of things in this life to worry about; what other people think of how you park isn't one of them.

Well said Ade. If people can park their rep mobile across three bays in a services car park without batting an eye lid, people won't be bothered by a Smart car in a corner between the lines. The doors are made of plastic from memory so you don't even have to worry about door dents...

I have to remember that I am very lucky to have a parking permit at all and I shouldn't take it for granted. Before I passed my test they would only give me a permit on a month to month basis.

Guess it annoys some people when trying to find a space that there are cars which appear to have not moved in months taking up spaces when they are struggling to find one.
