I guess in the first example, all the B's work fine. And how about the second and third?

1.
A: Is your dad a fan of country music?
B: I think so. / I reckon so / I guess so/ I suppose so.

2.
A: His dad is not a big fan of country music?
B: You think so? / You reckon so? / You guess so? / You suppose so?

3.

B: You think? / You reckon? / You guess? / You suppose?

For 2 & 3 I would probably say something like "What makes you think that?"

Thanks, and if you were still to pick the ones that worked for you?

In 2. the "so" is redundant and unnecessary.

Does either work in these examples? I guess in the first one, they are interchangeable, while they mean different things in the other, right?

1.
-Let's hear this song and then we are going to talk about its message.
-Let's listen to this song and then we are going to talk about its message.

2.
Did you hear the whole song?
Did you listen to the whole song?

I agree, the distinction between "hearing" something (but taking no notice of it) and "listening to" something is an important one. Every day we hear lots of sounds but take no notice of them, for example - we hear lots of sounds while driving our cars but take no notice of them until they change, then we listen to them.

A: Did you hear Adam's son is doing two degrees at Oxford?
B: Hmm, is he?
A: Yeah, medicine and psychology

A: Yeah, medicine and psychology

A: Did you hear Adam's son is double majoring at Oxford?
B: Hmm, is he?
A: Yeah, medicine and psychology

Say a police officer gives an account of what happened. Do you like all of them?

-The terrorists were given ten minutes to surrender.
-The terrorists were given ten minutes to give in.
-The terrorists were given ten minutes to give themselves up.

They would all sound correct to me, which one a policeman would use would depend on their political correctness training, I suspect most policemen would use the third one.

N.B. All references to policeman and policemen also include policewoman and policewomen
