For the c1 it's around 300 quid

For the MR2 it's £150

How does that work!?

But then did a v6 engine swap and I was getting quotes of over a grand but managed to get it down to £370 so not too bad

Received my yearly renewal quote this morning its £ 160 fully comp down from £ 183.22 last year despite having a new car worth £ 15000 in a higher insurance group. Pleased about that have 4 years NCD now. I had saved £ 400 just in case. Its all good!

I'm afraid that being reamed is all part of the fun when insuring your kids; daughter picked up three points for inadvertently crossing a white line (knob in a Merc "racing her") and son wrote off a Panda (too fast, too close, in the wet) both shortly after passing at 17! Funnily enough, insurance concerns were what led us to the C1. Our local garage recommended them after the write-off and we liked them so much we bought two! I'm mid-fifties and come in at £160 in rural Cheshire, whilst number one son is 25 and came in at about £500 in central Manchester - both comp.

I've just renewed mine, its the same this year except the service fee has gone up £2. So £ 150 for insurance plus £ 12 service fee, therefore £ 162 in total.

Last year was £ 150 for insurance plus £ 10 service fee so £ 160.

I'm £775 (paid in installments, so that includes interest for paying that way), fully comp 2 years no claims. However, my credit score was abysmal until earlier this year, so that will have increased the price (since worse score means worse interest bearing terms, which are considered even if I had gone for lump sum payment).

Compare the Market is giving me quotes around £200 less currently for the year based on my now much improved score, on 2 years no claims, so by time of renewal with (touch wood) my 3rd year no claim, should be even lower at that point. Plus I should be able to pay it lump sum, so save more that way too.
