Been quoted £ 277.08 inc 5% GST at the Hyundai main dealer to...

Change Engine Oil, Engine Oil Filter, Air Filter, Spark Plugs, Brake Fluid & Bleed Brakes and Battery in Vehicle Key (One key only)

What's your opinion on going to a non Smart or Merc dealer for a service, will they do a proper job? Can't be any worse than an amateur doing their own servicing.

I’m am not a Smart or Mercedes Technician. I hold papers to prove that I am a qualified Vehicle Technician accredited by the IMI, Institure of the Motor Industry! On behalf of all qualified mechanics and Technicians worldwide, I resent that comment! Independent mechanics are by no standard amateurs, the guys that I know will run rings around any dealer Technician.

That is a very small and narrow minded view to hold!

These guys often offer a basic oil and oil filter service for £ 49.95 on quidsin special deal (normally £ 99). I guess that's to get people through the door. Not quite as convenient a location as the Merc independent but by no means out of the way.

Sorry to upset you but I was wondering whether a Hyundai dealer would have the correct parts or are air filters and such like pretty standard on all cars?

Any garage or person can get the correct parts for the car. The details are listed in the service or log book. Try it yourself it’s easy. You might be surprised at how much cheaper you can buy the parts, but that’s not your wish, ok fine.
The Hyundai garage can get everything you need and reset your service lights. Tyre pressures man you do that your self anyway. Do you need a new battery in your key?, more money saved. They will check under the car if you ask.
And stamp your book. Sorry if l missed anything.

They only want £ 2 for a new key battery, the Mercedes independent wanted £ 3.85.

you fret over a 1.85 difference for a battery but don’t mind paying near £450 for a service?

I don’t understand that?
