In the instructions for my old Ring Automotive RAC600 electronic tyre inflator, that was a Christmas present about 5 years ago, it claims accuracy to within 1 PSI.

I’d assume the updated Ring Automotive RAC635 model will be at least as good so that’ll do for me.

Received my new electronic tyre inflator today, checked the instructions and this one says the gauge on the inflator is for "guidance" only.

So I'll test it out later and use my separate digital pressure gauge to test its accuracy, assuming that's accurate as well but I used to swear by it when I owned my first foot pump with a rubbish gauge.

*Update*

I just checked the rear right with my separate digital pressure gauge and it read 35.5 PSI. I had set it to 36.0 PSI with my old electronic inflator last week, so it looks as though that's in the right ball park at least.

I'll see how my new one fairs later on when I do all of the tyres with the new inflator and check them against the separate pressure gauge.

Used my new electronic tyre inflator for the first time today and first impressions aren’t good. Firstly screwing it on is more difficult than it should be. Screwing it off is about the same.

Secondly when you set the pressure you want it often cuts off at a pressure lower than what you’ve set according to it’s pressure gauge, remember it’s just for guidance.

The only saving grace was when I checked my tyres with my separate pressure gauge the rear right read 35 PSI instead of 36 PSI which is forgivable and both the fronts were 28.5 PSI instead of the 29 PSI I set them to.

I couldn’t get a reading from the rear left as my pig of a separate pressure gauge wouldn’t allow me to, so assume 35 PSI at best.

I’m just going to have to get used to it.

Well I decided it wasn’t up to snuff so have returned it this afternoon for a full refund. My old electronic tyre inflator was better so I’ll continue to use that while I decide what to do next once I have my refund.

I've decided to order another one of these cheap Draper analogue foot pumps...

https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B0001K9RFI/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

It's £ 14.17 ex VAT now and I paid £ 10.31 ex VAT for my last one back in July 2014. It lasted over four years which is more than can be said for my Michelin one which I bought in October 2018 for £ 36.85 and is now knackered.

To qualify for free delivery I've also ordered one of these analogue pressure gauges...

https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0002GV286/ref=pe_3187911_185740111_TE_item

I already have a working digital pressure gauge which is quite fiddly to use so it will be interesting to see how this analogue one compares. Main thing is total order comes to £ 22.75 ex VAT with free delivery.

Received my new Draper analogue pressure gauge today as well as my second Draper foot pump after the first one gave four years of sterling service.

I find its easier to get a reading on this pressure gauge but not as easy to set to exact amounts, so from now on I'm just going to check them and if they are within range say 30 PSI on the front and 35 PSI on the rear instead of 29 PSI front and 36 PSI rear I'll just leave them.

I can now see why people say adjusting them to 0.5 PSI precision with a digital gauge is pointless because if you use an analogue gauge you're just happy to be within range.

Interesting, what went wrong with your Michelin one, as I have a Michelin foot pump and mine has been ok so far, had mine 3 years or so. Funnily enough I reverse experiance, I bought couple those metal ones similar to your Draper one, but single barrel versiion, but either they buckled or had a dodgy valve connector, so went for the screw on type.

The Michelin one started leaking air around the screw on connector, so did my first Draper one but it lasted just over 4 years whereas the Michelin lasted 10 months.

In any case I’ve arranged to return the Draper analogue pressure gauge because I just couldn’t get on with it, I prefer my old Ring RTG4 digital pressure gauge.

It’s boxed up ready to go just got to drop it down the post office tomorrow morning.

I know the Ring digital pressure gauge is fairly accurate as when I set 36 PSI on my Ring digital tyre inflator the Ring digital pressure gauge read 36 PSI as well, and when I set 29 PSI on the Ring digital tyre inflator the Ring digital pressure gauge read 30 PSI.

If it’s 1 PSI out then that’s close enough for me.

I've ordered one of these...

https://www.amazon.co.uk/Sakura-SS5144-Tyre-Service-Kit/dp/B00C7VP7LC/ref=pd_ybh_a_1?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1&refRID=96QA3SWJNRQVN536G73W

Comes to £ 5.22 ex VAT with free delivery. I wasn't trying to make up an order of £ 20 from Amazon to qualify for their free delivery so was able to purchase this from a marketplace seller and get their free delivery instead.

It will be good to have a second digital pressure gauge to compare results with.
