Well as PSA already do a turbo version of the 1.2 engine that would make most economic sense. Just add some rear discs and some wider tyres. GTI for the Pug and VTS for the C1

Toyota could make a hybrid on the cheap as their faster version (fitting with Toyota's ethos). Add an electric motor to the drivetrain and fill the spare wheel well full of 18650 lithium-ion cells. Could call it Boost or something.
