hi, first post, thanks for having me

So I have noticed an issue with my C1 tonight, a smell of burning oil as it was being run on the drive as I havent taken it out for a few weeks. There seems to be a 'pool' of fresh oil at the base of the cat converter, where the converter mates with the exhaust. The front bumper is off of the car as I am building it up into a race car, so I can see the cat clearly. There seems to be no external oil leaks that I can see, that is physically leaking oil into this area. The cat's body seems dry. I dont have a great deal of experience with these engines, so does anybody have any suggestions of what might be causing this issue? It seems a very weird one to me. There is no excessive blue smoke from the tailpipe. Thanks in advance.

Hi there. I have heard of the oil baffle plate behind the cat/exhaust manifold leaking. A leak from there might dump oil in the location you describe.
