Hey all

I'm planning on disconnecting the battery for some weeks, during my absence.
This is mostly done to prevent excessive drain of the battery as well as be a deterrant to thieves (more the first though).

I know I should expect to reset the clock and the favourite frequencies on the radio, but other than that I don't see any good reason to not do it.
Mostly I am afraid the CPU might forget the transponder code on my key during extended power outages?

Connecting a trickle charger is not an option unfortunately.
Any experience with prolonged periods without battery to our bugs is appreciated. thanks :)

I ran my 107 without the battery connected for some months, no issues.

Thanks! How does that even work? Were you pushing to start?

Hi disconnect the negative terminal from the battery before doing so make sure nothing of expense is left in the car. On return the tyres may have developed flat spots, so drive slowly for the first few miles to get them warmed up.
