Hi all, me again!

A colleague informed me that apparently the 2011 C1 is only supposed to have one reverse light and one fog light? I just checked and surely enough I have no rear left fog light and only the left reverse light.

Blown bulb? Blown fuse? I’m so confused

Thanks
M

Don't be confused!

Rear light clusters have 3 bulbs per side, with differing functions.

Nearside has (top to bottom): Sidelight/Brake light, left indicator, reversing light
Offside has (top to bottom): Sidelight/Brake light, right indicator, fog lamp

That's it - pure and simple!

W

It's also not that unusual. quite a few cars (esp on UK roads) have a similar arrangement.

Sometimes, the same cars in different markets will have different arrangements. For example, not all markets require rear fog lamps, so in those countries, the space that is a fog lamp on a UK car might be a second reversing light. That's quite common on cars that have been imported into the UK from the Japanese domestic market. In fact, if you see a Japanese car (probably one from around 1990 to about 2005) with an additional bolt-on rear fog lamp (and possibly a rectangular rear number plate too) it's almost certainly been an after-market import.

Not difficult to swap, just bear in mind that you will need a 10mm spanner to get into the rear light clusters - No.1 Son discovered this recently when pulled over by a traffic cop for a blown brake light on his C1. We've now included one in his spare bulb set.
