When you clean the windows, use only horizontal strokes outside and vertical strokes inside the car (if you're totally obsessive about it like me). By using this method, if you get streaks, you'll be able to tell if they're on the inside or outside!

You have just changed my life (for the better).

A thousand thanks. Image

Posh glass cleaner, nlel! I use something by German brand "Sonax" from Eurocarparts for the wing mirrors and interior of the windscreen. Pretty sure they're basically detergents and water anyway!

I've had it for close on four years and still have this much left...

When I bought it in January 2014 it had finished second in Auto Express's 2013 Best Glass Cleaners list...

In 2017 all has changed and Muc-Off doesn't feature in the Best Glass Cleaners list anymore...

I think it may be to do with price, I paid £ 4.17 ex VAT for 500ml in 2014 and now its £ 8.74 ex VAT for 500ml.

Recieved my microfibre cloths today and have just given the interior of the front windscreen a clean but only on the drivers side as I couldn't be arsed to do the whole windscreen.

Looks to have removed the marks I was concerned about. It's no surprise now that the screenwash didn't remove them if they were on the inside...

I was flicking through an Auto Express magazine whilst waiting for my order in a Chinese take away last night when I came across an article about how to correctly wash the windscreen. It said to use two microfibre cloths and some glass cleaner.

It also said to spray the glass cleaner directly onto the microfibre cloth. This is where I have been going wrong, I have been spraying it onto the windscreen. Probably means I have been using more of it than necessary but never mind the glass cleaner only cost £ 4.17 and I've had it close on four years.
