Ten weeks - I dream about buying that much fuel.

£55 a tank, twice a week, most weeks.

She'll be knackered by Christmas at this rate!

Yeah that's only 23.1 miles once a week non-stop early on a Sunday morning and on the tenth week 12.9 miles to the petrol station and back with one stop at the station. It costs me just shy of £ 20 to top it up from 3 bars remaining.

Its about the same as it was before with my old Continentals and if the slightly narrower front tyres have made any difference to mileage its only a few miles at most. It should be interesting to see how much petrol goes in next weekend when I top the tank up.

Topped the tank up this morning and it cost £ 18.39. Just lately its been costing me over £ 19 so this bucks that trend a bit. Its not the cheapest I have ever had, I had £ 16.65 once but petrol was cheaper then. Here is a list of all the fuel ups I have made since owning the car...

13/08/17 £ 18.39
05/06/17 £ 19.87
27/03/17 £ 19.24
23/01/17 £ 20.52
21/11/16 £ 18.32
12/09/16 £ 18.72
20/06/16 £ 17.85
04/04/16 £ 17.01
01/02/16 £ 18.56
09/11/15 £ 16.65
01/09/15 £ 18.54
22/06/15 £ 19.43

Petrol is £ 1.039 a litre at the moment and has been for awhile.

Doesn't the Petrol price fluctuate? Here it changes on what seems to be a daily basis.

I'm guessing that the £-€ also has something to with it. Shell is €1.33.9-- £1.21p

Funny in the time of writing the price in my Shell Station has dropped to €1.29.9 l also have a rebate card so get
1 complete cent off yippee.

No major saving on our baby cars, but if you tank 70 litres it mounts up.

Well I last worked out my mpg on the 20/06/16 when I put £ 17.85 in at 95.9p a litre. Therefore I put in 18.61 litres. Back then I was doing 215.4 miles every ten weeks therefore it was 11.572 miles a litre.

Times that by 4.546 to convert to gallons and you get 52.6 MPG. This last top up I put £ 18.39 in at £ 1.039 a litre. Therefore I put in 17.69 litres. I now do 220.8 miles every ten weeks therefore it was 12.474 miles a litre.

Times that by 4.546 to convert to gallons and you get 56.7 MPG. So if my calculations are correct then my new narrower front tyres are 4 MPG more efficient than my older ones. That is quite some difference.

If I have my calculations wrong I stand to be corrected.
