I have done 1500 miles in the last month in my new C1. I have been keeping a track of fuel consumption.

I start from a full tank. When I have done some distance, I note the amount of Litres required to re-fill.

Then I divide Miles per Litre to get a figure.

Miles-----Litres-----Miles per litre
365.3-----29.81-----12.25
334.6-----29.16-----11.47
141.7-----11.41-----12.41
271.1-----24.84-----10.91
121.7-----7.59-----16.03
160.5-----12.67-----12.66

The 4th fill must have been over-full. I put this down to petrol pump differences. Maybe the pump cut off late. I use different garages.

see how many miles/litre you get!

I'm doing similar mileage to yourself, to date I've averaged 64mpg, in summer I can get as high as 72mpg, in winter it's 60-65mpg. I track is all on fuelly.com (let them work it out for me), abit OTT but I can see the improvements it's made to my driving style which has reduced the maintenance costs on my car - I'm getting 60,000 miles out of a set of tyres.

No you've not misread, had my car from new, changed original set of 4 at 61400 miles, then again at 132700 miles, currently at 163000. I've stuck with the oem tyre Continental EcoContact 3, I know many don't rate them, the average seems to be 30k out of this brand and at worst in your cases 10k.

I am an extreme case in how I drive, most of my driving is on motorways, bit of a running joke when the car goes in for service that I must only drive in straight lines

My journeys are normally short the motor is hardly warm and I run on hankook all year tyres. That doesn't help with fuel consumption but I already have 1 set winter wheels and tyres in my cellar. The Girlfriends
