My orange fuel light has come on (with a beep) but the LCD is still on 1 bar (not flashing). The manual talked about slow flashing and fast flashing.

The range says 15 miles remaining. I guess I'll have to fill up to the top and see if I get all 35 litres in to work out how much is left in there.

Why isn't mine flashing at all?

EDIT: Just got back in and this time it was 0 bars! Refuelled with 32 litres so there must have been 3 litres left? :?:

Happened again - got down to 1 bar (not flashing) and orange light. Next morning when I started up, 0 bars. Refilled and it took 30 litres so must have been ~5 still in there.

Why don't I get the flashing bar?

Maybe you need a new sensor in the tank or something main thing is you carry spare fuel.

It sounds to me as though the orange light is 'the new flashing', if you follow me. The old(er) cars don't have the warning light, we just get the beep and flashing last bar of fuel guage as a low fuel warning.

If you think about it, you don't need a warning light and a flashing fuel guage, as long as you find a garage before it all goes quiet, you're fine. Unless of course it is actually supposed to have both, in which case you have a (tiny) issue, and I would check it into somewhere to be looked under warranty.

Well the manual still talks about a slow flashing and a fast flashing. I didn't think 1 (solid) bar was possible, it always used to go from 2 solid bars to 1 flashing bar?

i drove a lease citroen c1 new and a peugeot lease 108 both had the weird fuel system . but sometimes Mad Duck (or Blue) does the same the meter tells me it is almost empty (one bar) but i cant get more in it then 30 / 32 ltrs . it is weird and i have learnt my self to fill up earlier , it depends on how far i allready have gone and how far the next pump is , and how important the reason for traveling

Nope I'm not going to let it go as low as that again, I've never run out of fuel in 5 years of car ownership and don't plan on starting now!
