Just fitted a K&N panel air filter to our Peugeot 108 (1.0) toyota engine, the paper one very dirty, so presume dealer didn't bother at last service!, so looking at paper filter prices for 108 (1.0) , decided get one these.

Not expecting any performance improvement at all, we tend keep our cars for a while, so long service interval of K&N made sense, even though if I change paper one every 2 years. Quite shocked at paper air filter prices for the 108!, it 4 times the price of sister's old Ford Fiesta air filter and the darn thing is alot smaller, the price of progress!

Just ordered the same for my "new" 2014 C1, now the warranty has expired. £55, but it'll be the first and last filter I fit to it.

It's not for everyone, but depends on how long you keep your car for and mileage you do, the paper filters for 108 (1.0) are about £12-£15, I usually get the mann ones, so not the cheapest, and we tend keep our cars 10 years+ and do less than average mileage, so like Doz, should last life of the car and probably won't need to clean and re-oil either. Also, in similar position to Doz, that our car soon be out of warranty, so it was decision time.

As my sister found out, it still cheaper than a full dealer service and our dealer may not even change air filter anyway, don't think it has ever been changed on our 3 and half year old car , as it very dirty and still the toyota denso one!, would expected citroen/peugeot one if it been changed. For a main dealer to potentially not change an air filter at full service interval is bit poor imo., especially price they charge!

Ironically our aircon pollen filter was cleaner than the air filter, when I checked it.

£55 is crazy.

I used Mann, think it was around £11.

When l bought my C1 2006 in ‘2012 the book was stamped but the A/C filter was literally black.
The Air filter was ok.
Due for the next service in July only done 3000 miles per year so Mann are going out the window.
Ordered SCT complete set Air, Pollen and Oil for €23 inc post.
If they look rubbish l will return them.

Well, I do more than average mileage, so I'll save a bob over a period of time.

I've also noticed improved mileage. The best-guess-o-meter has risen from 57MPG to 61MPG, the reality will be less, and this maybe due to conditions last week, but time will tell if it's making any real difference. The car really only ever does the same journey.
