From new our Aygo mk1 came with continental tyres, we have always changed like for like. But is there any other tyres which are as good as or better for the Aygo.

Pirelli, Michelin and of the better brands. It's a simple shopping car, so any decent tyre will do you.

Personally, I avoid any of the "Energy" or "Eco" tyres they usually have harder compounds which whilst good for tyre life give less grip and often are noisier.

I went for these because they got good reviews from C1 drivers - primary requirements were wet weather performance and noise.

Goodyear EfficientGrip Compact
155/65 R14 T (75)
Fuel C Wet B Noise 68db

We run them all round on both our C1s and they come in at about £55 a corner fitted. Seem to be pretty good all rounders, grippy and positive, but I'm no expert - went for the wisdom of crowds approach. Tyres are one thing I absolutely don't economise on - they keep you on the road! Took my C1 for a blast around the North Coast 500 last February - beautiful, cold, weather and empty roads. Had an absolute ball rattling around those single track A roads and the tyres performed well :-)

I find Avon and Nankang are a good compromise in price and efficiency, decent performing tyres for the price
