300 mile motorway journey, 10 degrees celcius, just me in car, speed was 70mph

MPG came out at 58.

Not bad I suppose but not great either

Just drove to down to town and back (30 mile drive) and averaged 57.6 according to the car, ok I suppose.

Might just be because the roads here in Wales are very windy, constantly slowing down and speeding up, rubbish for MPG!

I don't know what you guys are moaning about. I got 56.5 in my Smart last time I checked and was well happy with that. This was doing 23.1 mile round trips travelling at up to 40 mph in auto mode with the lights and radio on. This on mainly deserted early morning roads. I am not sure if >40 mph is the most efficient speed or not.

edit: Just done a bit of googling and it seems the optimal speed for best mpg is 55 mph.

Did you give it a full service and check your tyre pressures etc before you started? Is the throttle body tip top clean? All these things and more play a part don't sweat it

According to this site and many others driving at 70 mph uses up to 20% more fuel than if driving at 55 mph.

New record today.

35 minute drive town to town via motorway. I stayed at 50-60mph and there was no traffic and was warm. 79.5MPG!

However it was downhill. On way back, 68MPG. I accelerate slowly and don't carry excess weight and ensure tyres are 35psi minimum.

If I did the same journey at 70mph, I doubt I would get any higher than 63MPG.
I love this car!

Very happy with our 2015 C1's return of around 45/50 mpg on short runs - short as in 5 miles max. On a steady run I'd expect 50/55, which again is great. Not had it long enough to give it a decent run yet.

Considering that our Zafira returns about 30 mpg and the 5 Series about 22 mpg, I have no complaints with the C1's fuel consumption!

Wish I could drive at 55 mph to see what mpg I would get. Wouldn't be as high as yours but maybe better than the 56.5 I got driving at up to 40 mph.
