Hi Andy,

Sorry to hear youre leaving us, just as I was about to ask if it was still ok to pop up to do my alarm.

I know you originally done your how to based on a Hawk alarm then then changed it to a generic one but I don't suppose you still have the hawk one saved on your computer anywhere?

Many thanks.

(I did try and PM you this but you have disabled your PMs.)

Be aware of the vvti with 140, loads of them had a common issue if I remember rightly when I was searching, the vvtli/tsport version didn't suffer.... Think it was something to do with oil... Can't remember though and it wasn't all of them so make sure you have a good search on the celica owners club, useful guys

Cheers mate, I have been looking on there as for the oil they can get thirsty for oil after 60.000 miles I think a litre every 700 odd miles.

Hobsey, Soz yeah I did disable my pm coz I kept getting bombarded with pm from never heard of members who then simply disappear when you help them. I will try dig out that info for the hawk alarm.

That's cool and understandable.

If you do manage to find it, it would be a massive help, many thanks.

I've never been at all inspired by Celicas. A front engined, front wheel drive coupe just seems wrong to me. That said my mates got one and absolutely loves it, so they can't be that bad!

Well I better update.....the celica idea, I was put off by various issues and went back to a BMW mini, I've got a chilli red Mini Cooper with JCW body kit and all the extras. I'm dead chuffed with it.

I look after a Cooper for one of my customers, an old boy. Apart from boot handle switches and reverse light switches its a pretty solid design. A nice range of Peugeot engines too, so you've still got that spiritual connection ;)

It's a 54 reg so if I'm right it's R53 generation if that helps? It's been serviced every year by BMW, stamps in book. Done 60.000 miles, I preferred that range of age/mileage so any problems that would have arisen would have been found. Only thing I found is that the drivers door doesn't always unlock with remote central locking, it locks just fine. But I believe this is common. Doesn't bother me tho.
