All I can say is that mine have never dropped more than 1 PSI over a two week period. So if the climate is affecting them as much as you say then its only temporary.

Yes, the change will be temporary and I was surprised how much the pressure seemed to change over the different temperatures. Even though it did seem to be a reasonably linear relationship between temperature and reported pressure, I can't help feeling that something is a bit screwy. It's much more of a difference that I would have expected. Though I am satisfied that ambient temperature does make some difference to the tyre pressure as it changes throughout the day and from day to day.

As you say, the change is only temporary but, by extension, that also means the pressure at the time of checking is also temporary. ;)

I'm not suggesting that people should not check tyre pressures (they should); merely that a 0.5 PSI variance from one check to the next is a more accurate measurement than the system being measured justifies. :)

The lady in this YouTube video tends to agree with you...

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QTst6ZdlVtg

She says it's ok to be "one or two PSI" off what you want to achieve when setting tyre pressures and she's not talking in terms of 0.5 PSI.

Yeah pretty much same story, one of the cats buried a big steamer in my parents driveway and I stepped right into it lol

I'm getting increasingly jealous of people in parts of the country with warmer weather. If I hadn't been at work, all I could have done today was scrape the frost off my car. Then, if I tried to wash it, either sit and watch icicles reforming or get absolutely soaked in the sleety, windy, miserable rain. :?

[I was in Wiltshire a couple of weeks ago - it was noticeably warmer even then.]
