Turns out the crank was bent and a con rod

Sounds like a seized/jammed piston was the culprit?

Definitely worth getting all the cylinders refinished/rebored to make sure it doesn't happen again.

They reckon spun bearing in the past

New oversized pistons, all new bearings, main and big end

Should be a new engine after all of this

Hoping to have it back in the next few weeks

In the mean time I can work on the MR2 without any worries about having it roadworthy etc, so replaced the rubber t bar seals, rear calipers have been done, new rear brake discs

Might do a engine bay wire tuck next and paint the engine bay Matt black

Looking new, clean and shiney, hope all goes well with the refit, hopefully won't be too hot weather when you doing it, haven't been able to say that for a few years. Best of luck, hope all goes well, and the you keep the swear words to a minimum.

Got the coolant lines in yesterday

Today did the brakes (got the handbrake to adjust)
And wheels back on and she's back on the ground for the first time in 3 months

Moved forwards and backwards and no strange noises so far all is good

Will take her for a drive on Thursday

Got the gearbox oil seal replaced today and filled it back up with oil and coolant today and sorted out the alternator wiring, no more warning lights on the dash!

Drive her up and down the street a few times, she drives really well and the gearbox and clutch feel really good too

Breaks on the other hand.... Shocking! Must still have air in the system, I did only bleed the rears to be fair

Tomorrow I'm working and Sunday my parents are coming over but may get the brakes done on an evening tomorrow or Sunday

Then next week I'll be off to get some exhaust quotes and get this downpipe made up
