Sorry you lovely lot! I completely missed these posts :( my deepest apologies!
J15NEL
It's good to hear from you my friend! I'm well and I wish the same to you!
I'm doing my best to stop the veccy from being chavvy, but it's a hard job! Still got the mx5?
Kaliope! Your quite right it has its issues but it's all getting sorted and I'm after the power.
And reedy- let's do it! Come along to some of the meets if you want :D

So the long and short is, I'm on my second vectra.
My first was this-
Image
It was the 1.9 8v sri preface.
Essentially my last car broke down and I needed a car in a rush as I was stuck about 300 miles from home and needed something. Unfortunately it was a bit of a lemon with more rust than anything else.

ImageImage

Usual things were done, stereo was swapped out and egr blanked (after it blew the metal flex pipe).
Anyway as I said this car was rather rusty! It came to the point we're the turbo went and I decided not to spend any more money on this particular bag of bolts and decided to move onto a facelift 150 and start some proper modifying.
Image

This is how I bought her, a 2007 1.9cdti 16v, 109000 miles on the clock and your bottom of the range life model!

First thing to do was to swap stereo in (pioneer app radio), heated elite leathers (scrapyard bargain of £70), sub and smoked rear light off my old vectra into the new one!
And of course a DTUK red box that I accident bought that would only work with 16v engine not my old 8v.

The next thing I attempted was to plasti dip the front section and rear panel. This went swimmingly until I removed the masking tape and cocked it all up, so the only photos I have were of it being done. Thank god that stuff peels off!
Image
Image

So with that promptly peeled back off I left it in the past as a bad idea!

Pressed plates were the next addition to the car, as ever I think they help make a car look cleaner but that is of course a personal opinion!
Image

Next step on the line was blanking off the egr.
Image

Which of course meant a week later it blew up the egr pipe which meant a frantic rush before Christmas to get it blanked off at the exhaust manifold. Really was a poor move fitting the turbo right down at the front of the engine!
Image

With that all sorted Christmas rolled on which meant lots of cleaning time haha
Image
Image

I know, anal as hell but I love some beading!

Now begins the performance modifications, basically the aim was to get it ready for a little teapot map!
Then we continue, next thing to be done was a home made straight through exhaust, all cats gone, and a nice tip welded on.

Lowering springs also fitted on that day, only a 30mm drop, but enough to fill that ruddy arch gap a bit!
Image
ImageImage

Exhaust tip can just been seen pocking out. The idea being its subtle so sleeper style, your not expecting it type of things!

Front mount fitted next

Image

Image

Boost gauge fitted.
Pipercross panel filter fitted
Image
Image

And scored a cheap set of sri alloys to save on buying a new set of tyres!

And that's how she sits today. Off for a teapot map tomorrow and I can not wait :D

That's tidy bud. You will have to explain to this old duffer though - what's a teapot map, or has autocorrect got to you?

Nope, auto correct has not got me!
Haha it's a remap using a teapot [FACE THROWING A KISS][LOUDLY CRYING FACE]
Nope it's the username of a forum mapper on the vectra forums, but his maps are known as a teapot map!
He's the best in the business!
It made a huge difference to the car and I will be on the dyno in mid march so can post results.
Also going to santa pod tomorrow so expect some 1/4 and 0-60 times :)

Ha, I googled it and everything...

Sounds good mate, and the 30mm drop makes all the difference to the stance.

The basic I'm torque figures, will update when it has been in the dyno :)

The drop really does make a difference! Can't go much lower, I've already smashed one dump in the yard ;)
