Never know ;) Mine seems to make a noise unless there is a slight pressure or more on the clutch. It's a race car, just rag it!

got a squeak coming from somewhere. it's getting worse, so have ordered a new drive belt which i'll be fitting and checking the alternator turns freely at the same time. water pump was done recently so it's not that! got a really bad feeling it's the clutch release bearing though. although i'm pretty gutted if it is considering the car should have the 190mm and has covered roughly 50,000 miles.

Oh buddy, it sounds just like mine! And at the same mileage too. Is it a twittering noise, rather than a full-on squeal - mine has been twittering for about 12k, so unless you can't put up with it, it'll likely be ok for a good while yet. The 190mm refers to the friction plate diameter though, nowt to do with the bearing. I've got the bigger clutch too, being a late(ish) 2009.

Yep, mine sings away to itself worst at idle in neutral. A little pressure on the pedal and it goes away, then I can hear it again as I engage the clutch and clear off. At low speed in first and second I can hear it, but beyond that everything else starts making a racket! Recall - not a chance imo, it's just a worn bearing. Shame they're an arse to get at though, that's what makes it a pain.

Yes! That's exactly what mine is like, twittering when moving off etc. seems worse when the car is warm! I can put up with it until I have money to fix it but I just hope it isn't going to die!

With reference to re-call I was just taking the p... Michael out of GM's recent troubles :P The race car, yeah good point, the recent video I found of a C1 at the 'ring plays to that one!

Is true they're an arse to get to, box out job for my MX5 so I'm just going to keep on going till it breaks, eats up 400 miles a week with spirited driving so who knows how long it'll last!

Mines been doing it 6-8 months easy, so unless yours gets a lot worse in a hurry you should be fine. I've given up worrying now, if it collapses one day I can just get the break-down chaps to truck me home...

@J15nel - yeah I saw 'the ring' video, at least he was trying hard! :)
