Some minor work this evening. Finally got my switches for the USB outlet.

Image

I think i managed to get switches very similar to the ones controlling the heated seats, but with red diod to match the rest of things.
Image

In place and testing, works fine. Has to think of something to cover up the hole for the 12V outlet, i took the power from this to the USB to get it on another fuse.

Power on.

Power off, in case the blue diod gets annoying when driving at night.

Nice work with the switches! I'm a bit jealous that you can do that all by yourself. I'm not that handy unfortunately.

Gold rims huh? Bold choice. I'll wait for the photo update :)

Thanks! I have built a lot of car stereos a long time ago so i'm quite used to tinker with car electrics.

Black & Gold, classic racing colors. Pictures will come as soon as they are on the car.

I have some plans…

Okey, i know i am i bit lazy not building my own box… but there is a big car show in sweden every easter and with that comes a bunch of good deals for car parts.

So i ordered one of these today, for a price that i probably would have to spend for MDF board, carpet and all the little things needed when building my own box. And i still would not have any amplifier to it. So it was quite an easy decision, and i can focus more on renovating a room in our house instead.

It is a very small box with one active 8" inch speaker and two 8" passive speakers, comments from other buyers is very positive and the store usually does not sell any crap so i hope it will do it's thing back there. Can't be less bass however. ;)

If only the easter vacations could be over and i get my wheels and sub delivered.

Did the swedish road inspection yesterday, they had nothing to complain about. I took the opportunity to check my car underneath when it was up on the lift, there is almost no underseal at all :o Just grey paint, some small rust spots but nothing serious. I will have to get my car sprayed with underseal coating before the next winter.

Good to hear, is that your car road worthiness inspection? like our yearly UK MOT. To be fair all our cars for last 20 years rust not been a problem, back in the 1980s underseal was an afterthought so rust and welding were common place, but think they dip entire car shell now, so no bodywork rust. Interestingly our 107 has rust on various engine/underbody parts, and that was within 6 months of ownership, but main chassis/floor is still very clean.

Yes it is our MOT test.

We do have a lot of rust still, because in the south of sweden we have problems with ice on the tarmac and the roadholding use salt to get rid of it. So in wintertime we drive in some salty slush who rots our cars away.

But on to something more fun, got my new wheels today and here it is. It was raining today of course so the car could be a lot cleaner and i have to do a proper photoshoot someday.
