I’ve had another look at the so called tar spots and they’re pretty minor. So I’d say the tar spots are the worst, followed by the scratch on the door then the scrapes on the wing mirror and lastly the minor dent.

The scrape on the wheel arch has virtually disappeared, I can only feel it by touch so that’s pretty much off the damage list entirely.

I find the so called tar spots look worse on camera because it’s so close up. Kneeling down next to the car, viewing from an average distance away with only my eyes, and they look very minor.

You can see what I mean here...

They're not that bad in the overall scheme of things.

I've noticed with the scrape on the wheel arch if you go in close with a camera with the flash turned off you can still see it...

Its all very minor though.

Meguiars Ultimate Compound would probably remove it

I’ve ordered some on the basis that it probably won’t work. Ordered from Amazon for £ 11.12 ex VAT inc free delivery under my Prime membership.

Could have got same from eBay for £ 10.24 free delivery...

For the sake of 88p I’ll go with my trusted supplier Amazon. It probably won’t work but for the sake of £ 11.12 I’ll give it a go, that’s less than the cost of a pizza.

Received the Meguiars Ultimate Compound today, tried it on the so called tar spots and it had no affect. Tried it on the scrape on the wheel arch with minimal improvements.

I knew it couldn't perform miracles.

Here's a photo I took on the 8th January, prior to me trying Meguiars Ultimate Compound...

Then here's a photo I took today...

There is no perceivable difference between the two. So all my work hasn't made it any better but no worse either.

I’ve decided I’m definitely going to claim on the cosmetic car solutions I paid £ 600 for. I’ve done the best I can with it now it’s time to hand it over to the professionals.

I’ll leave it until after it’s service at the end of January.

I've got to submit four photos of the cosmetic damage for each claim that I make, so I'm going with...

Claim 1
