A word of warning. There are engines or engine parts on various internet auctions, saying they are 1KR engines. Yet you must realize the same code number refers to both bugs and Yaris II and there are some differences, at least three:

-the throttle on Yaris II is always electronic. Most bugs have a manual one, apart from those with semi-automatic gearbox or those fitted wth ESP

-the oil sump on Yaris II is always made of aluminum, compared to bugs’ black metal ones

-1KR on yaris has one more sensor, for engine temp gauge I believe

petrol bugs with standard box are always fitted with manual throllte. They come with electronic throttle only if they are fitted with automatic gearbox or ESP.

So a bug with manual box but with EPS on board will have an automatic throttle too, yet hardly any bugs with ESP.

Mines the diesel, definite lag if I flaw it I'm first gear. Just goes flat and then about Twp seconds in slams the power on, but only if I start of at low revs, if I rev it for a wheelspin start then I'll go. Pain in the backside really
