Hello, I also have a non working EBay remote for my 2013 107. It also has the wrong chip.

I’m going to try to replace the chip with the right one. Would that work?

If you have the right chip, do you not also have the right PCB? I think it's very likely that you could desolder a chip with the right firmware from one PCB and transplant to another as the pinouts are all the same.

Afternoon all, we’re on the verge of buying a 2012 Aygo. However this only has the single non-remote key present.

Could anyone advise if the remote key can be programmed from a non-remote key?

If so, would it be a diy process and what would I need to buy? I’ve read through the thread with regards some types/codes of transponder not working so any further clarity (in layman’s terms) would be much appreciated !

Thanks in advance!

Very useful comments from all guys. Thank you for all your effort and support. This specific subject is very interesting.
I bought an Aygo last year (mk1 14 plate) and it came with only one key too. I was searching on the internet for a 2nd key with remote features on the key. Finally, I found something with a potential. I received a cut key with PCB number 00803v1.1. Of course the photo cut key didn't go very well and the key is not turning the engine on. So I tried by opening the original key-fob just to change the key blade and to programme it. I didn't work either, possible because of the wrong PCB.
Now back again to search a different PCB :)
